The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is comprised of girls and young women of color who have applied to support the work of the Learning Network. The purpose of this committee is to provide recommendations, involvement, and guidance for the work of the Learning Network, based on their lived experience. Goals for our Youth Advisors:

  • To provide an opportunity for school community members to learn the unique perspectives of girls of color
  • To provide girls of color the opportunity to engage with professionals in school communities to create change

  • Add experience to resume
  • Receive a modest stipend

Role Details:

  • Term is one calendar year (renewal possible at end of the term)
  • Participation in monthly check-ins
  • Authorship of one essay is required and will be published on the Learning Network website
  • A modest stipend will be paid upon completion of the essay
